About RobyFabro
My approach to photography derives from my European background and my penchant for graphic composition, influenced by my study of architecture at university.
Growing up in Italy, I was surrounded by beauty, a constellation of art, architecture, and nature. Whether meandering through little towns, viewing the coastline, or driving through the countryside, one witnesses the coming together of the natural environment with man-made constructions, a blending of colors, patterns, textures, and forms. The balance and interaction of these elements elicit a multi-sensory reaction and inform my aesthetic sensibility.
The photographs I create reproduce this sensibility through an emphasis on graphic composition. I consciously position a subject within an environment where both the individual and her surroundings are mutually enhanced in the representation. The interdependent interplay between a subject and her environment intensifies the visual interest and allows an observer to connect with the subject through a distinctive viewpoint.
My career as a photographer has spanned three decades, working in the cities of Milan and London. I now live in the Boston area with my wife, an educator, and our two dogs, Zoey and Luna.
